Witch Mom Blog

Hey everyone, just discovered this forum, and I am glad! It seems like good quality discussion happen here and I am happy to take part.

Wanted to let pagan parents know about my blog: Witch Mom. More than just musings about how cute my son is (although he is freaking cute!), it is a written journey of me teaching him (and other children) the Craft. While there are some books out there that are pretty great for kids 2 and up (Circle Round comes to mind), there are NO resources for younger kids. So I am creating one.

As I go along, I am creating curriculum for pagan homeschoolers. Helping folks create playgroups, co-op babysitting arrangements, and so much more.

I am hoping that the blog becomes a gathering place for people to have dialogue on these issues- as it grows I may add a pagan parenting forum and downloadable resources. Won't you join me? Link to my blog is in my signature.

If you like it, become a follower, or "like" me on Facebook!

It seems some folks confuse "secrets" with Mysteries.
The Mysteries aren't secret.
They are there for whoever wishes to seek them out.
There just aren't any shortcuts.

That's the Secret.

Don't ask Life to polish you into a jewel and then complain about all the rough treatment!

Momma here too!

well, I think this is a good idea. I have a 5 year old son and there are many challenges in raising him with mt ex husband being baptist. I do not necessarily see this as a problem, but he does. To me its just a different system for belief. I'd be curious to hear how other moms approach this without at the same time undermining the fathers views. When my son tells me he is scared that mommy is going to hell, honestly i RAGE. But so far my tactic has been question everything, let him think about it and decide. I'm not here to give him answers, he will need to find his own path or paradigm, but as a mother I do need to make sure I defend him. In my opinion not being awake or having to succumb to a system of belief due to fear is in essence killing my child. So there I do need to step in, to at least allow for possibility so that he can find the right fit for him. Ideas? comments?

That is a tough one. I have a friend who is also Feri and her daughter's father is born again (they are divorced), and she hears similar things when her daughter stays with him for more than a weekend. And this is a child who is raised to be a free thinker, and goes to witch camp every summer!

I think not only introducing him to your religion and questionaing things is a good idea, but also some progressive christianity, so he doesn't think that all christians believe that you are going to hell. Many UU congregations are more christian in bent, but still open to pagans. Perhaps that is a good place to start?

Best of luck to you, I'd be interested to hear how it goes!
